Note: there will be no The Mana Regen for another few weeks. I just don't have the energy to put into the retail retreadmill at the moment.
But instead, we get to spend some time with an old friend, Vichyssoise.
World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery Phase 2 began Thursday, 8 February. I wasn't sure if I was going to play it, but after logging back in and getting back to questing, I can't help but find this version of World of Warcraft refreshing.
Don't get me wrong - I'll still be raid logging and doing some retail stuff (especially to get the February Trading Post reward), but I want to get back into discovering what the developers have added to this phase of SoD.
And I really want to get into that Gnomeregan raid.
Lucky for me, I'm in SOUP. And SOUP is going strong - even simmering, you might say.
Vichy is hopping back in to help stir the pot.
Hillsbrad Foothills
It feels good to be back in this zone. Tarren Mill and this whole area have great WoW flavor.
The carnage killing Hillsbrad peasants, farmers, etc is real.
So is the waiting for named mobs to spawn.
It's beautiful to see these old zones so busy. And I love that people willingly make groups to help each other deal with the adversities like the forever respawn timers.
The one pain with the quests here is the continual back and forth. Quests have you killing so many Hillsbrad humans. Then returning to Tarren Mill. And then back. Repeat like three times.
Silver lining: bag space is at such a premium that you need a vendor to clear up bag space this often anyway.
Razorfen Kraul
After getting through most of or at least a few more of the Hillsbrad Foothills quests, I went to try a dungeon: Razorfen Kraul.
A tank friend in guild, Tanjikee, was looking for a group to run RFK. I offered to heal even though I was probably a level low.
It was a clean run overall. And I got a new staff!
It was good to get back into a dungeon.
What the Hell is this Orange Tabby?
After the dungeon, I ran back north to The Crossroads following an orange tabby cat. I assumed it would take me somewhere.
Nope. It sure didn't.
Reddit tells me it leads you to the burnt note quest that will take you into Dustwallow Marsh.
But then why does it go back to The Crossroads.
I really wanted it to be something. It was a nothingburger. Womp. Womp.
It's nice to be back in this Season of Discovery. What a mode.
