The Mana Regen: World of Warcraft Dragonflight 10.2 Week 8, the Holidays, Amirdrassil AOTC, and the Upper Deck Blizzard Legacy Collection Trading Cards

This week in The Mana Regen, I discuss World of Warcraft Dragonflight 10.2 Week 7 in review and Week 8 in preview among other end-of-year topics, including:

  • Week 7/Week 8 Weeklies and M+

  • AOTC in Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope

  • The Holidays (in WoW and IRL)

  • Upper Deck's Blizzard Legacy Collection

Weeks 7 and 8: Weeklies, M+, etc.

Another week of 10.2 is in the books. Tyrannical, Incorporeal, and Spiteful was tedious, particularly at higher levels. But it was fine.

But then I saw this week's (Week 8) affixes: Fortified, Afflicted, and Raging.

Afflicted is worse than Incorporeal.

I ran a +20 Atal'Dazar to see how things would go. I find that Fortified always feels better after a week of Tyrannical.

And it does. Even if Afflicted is awful.

For the weekly Aiding the Accord quest, you can choose another The Emerald Bounty or go Sniffenseeking. I was tempted to go Sniffenseeking, but I ultimately chose the let the overlap of The Emerald Bounty help speed up the process.

I am over planting and watering seeds, but it's pretty easy and builds rep toward supply packs/satchels.

The weekend event weekly is A Call to Battle. Go and win 4 battlegrounds to earn 5 Marks of Honor and 175 Conquest. Be sure to pick up Something Different, too, if you plan to complete these by queuing for PvP Brawls, which awards 5 Marks of Honors, 110 Conquest, and 250 Honor for a win. Gotta Go Fast will also stack in this quest completion PvP jaunt for the same rewards as Something Different.

The new Prime Gaming loot is available for World of Warcraft as of December 26th. Check out the Swift Windstead Mount that is available here.

AOTC Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope

Fyrakk, dead. World of Warcraft Dragonflight
We got him! (Again for the guild.)

Doomforge Brewing killed Fyrakk again. It was an early Christmas gift for me, as I didn't expect us to clear the whole raid on heroic difficulty while also having the guild's Secret Santa exchange going on between pulls.

I missed the guild's AOTC kill Monday, December 18th, so this was AOTC for me.

On our final pull of the night, it all came together, and down went Fyrakk on heroic.

And thanks to Zalanaa (top left) for the awesome Secret Santa gifts. <3

The Holidays in WoW and IRL

World of Warcraft Winter Veil 2023

This time of the year is great in WoW, but IRL events make it difficult to have group activities at usual times. It's worth it to spend time with family and friends outside of the game, but it means any push into mythic raiding is on hold until the new year.

We'll be ready for it!

As of Monday, the presents under the Winter Veil tree were available to loot. Be sure to get your new toy, and to collect whatever other goodies Greatfather Winter has left for you.

I do hope that all of you out there have had a restful and joyous holiday season so far. I know the holidays can be rough for many folks, and so if that's the case, may they pass as uneventfully as possible for you.

The older I get, the more I'm just happy to get to see some folks and to share a meal and a few drinks.

I guess I'm an old sap now. Oh well.

Upper Deck's Blizzard Legacy Collection

One of the gifts that I received this year was a Hobby Box of the new Blizzard Legacy Collection trading cards produced by Upper Deck.

These are awesome.

I have been wanting some sort of physical trading card game or just trading cards from Blizzard for a while now, and so for these to be out there to collect now means I'll have my work cut out "ripping" packs well into 2024.

I've hit on some packs from the box, looting a Legendary The Lost Vikings 2 parallel and a Damascus Rock N' Roll Racing parallel.

Beyond these gems, the artwork is fantastic. They're just pretty to look at.

I recommend you call your local card shop to see if they carry them. Treat yourself.

Shout out to Juniata Cards in Altoona, PA. It's like I'm 9 all over again, collecting Fleer Ultra X-Men cards. I've been buying cards from Steve there for over thirty years, and he remembers me every time I come in. (And there was a 15 year gap in there when I had moved away for school and then work.)

Enjoy the rest of this year, and I look forward to sharing more thoughts and information with yinz next year.

I'm OOM for 2023.

Thanks for reading. For Azeroth!
